APPLICATION OF THE SIMPLE ADDITIVE WEIGHTING (SAW) METHOD FOR THE BEST STUDENT SELECTION

Abstract

Simple Additive Weight ( SAW ) is a decision support system that has the goal of providing information, guiding and directing users to be able to take appropriate decision-making actions. At the moment, Astrindo Vocational School has not used a method in determining the best students, therefore, in order to make the work of the best student selection committee efficient and effective, a method is needed. One of the decision support methods applied is Simple Additive Weight (SAW). The advantage of Simple Additive Weight ( SAW ) is the advantage in making a more precise assessment because it is based on criteria values ​​and importance level weights according to needs. The criteria used in the assessment are final grades, ethics, organization and tidiness. The ethics, tidiness and organization criteria are given high marks, because these three things are important for a student who gets the best predicate. With this method it is hoped that it will be able to assist the school in making decisions regarding determining the best students with predetermined point limits and grades.
